Trauma is when a person has had their life, bodily integrity or mental wellness threatened. This can leave the person feeling overwhelmed and fearful. It causes the person to have emotional or mental problems straight away or years after the incident has occurred. These memories might have a long term effect on the person such as night terrors, panic attacks, depression or high anxiety. As a counsellor I am able to work through the trauma with you and slowly help you take back control and work on coping strategies.
