Cookie Notice

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide basic information to the website owner about how their site is being used.
What cookies does this site use?
Below is the complete, accurate list of cookies this site uses, organised by the same three categories you see in the cookie settings panel.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They include:
- Cookies set by WordPress and Elementor to manage your session and display the site correctly
- A cookie that remembers your cookie consent choice (pressidium_cookie_consent), so you are not asked again on every page
Performance and analytics cookies (optional)
These help me understand how visitors use the site. They include:
- Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_51QMGBCQ80) – anonymous data about which pages are visited, how people find the site, and roughly where visitors are located. Not linked to your name or contact details. You can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- If you visit the Pay Now page, Yoco’s payment form loads its own analytics cookie (via a service called Segment) as part of processing your payment securely.
Advertisement and targeting cookies (optional)
These are used for online advertising. They include:
- A Google Ads cookie (_gcl_au) – used to measure how effective online ads are and, if you have engaged with a Google ad before visiting, may be used to show you relevant ads on other websites afterwards.
You can decline this category at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer – doing so stops this cookie from being set.
This site does not use:
Cookies that identify you personally without your knowledge
Social media tracking pixels (this site has no embedded social media share or follow widgets)
Other websites embedded on this site
A few pages on this site load content directly from other companies. This isn’t the same as a cookie, but it’s worth knowing about:
- Contact Me page – a Google Maps embed showing my practice location. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads.
- Pricing page – a live currency-conversion feature that calls the free Frankfurter exchange-rate API. This only requests exchange-rate data; no personal information is sent.
- Pay Now page – a payment form provided by Yoco. See the Privacy Policy for what Yoco does with your information.
The journal tool on the Resources page works a little differently: it uses your browser’s local storage, not a cookie, to hold your entry temporarily while you’re on the page. Nothing is sent to me, and this storage clears when you leave the page or clear it yourself. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.
Managing your cookies
You can change your cookie choices at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer of this site, or through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when a new cookie is set. Please note that switching off strictly necessary cookies will affect how the site works.
Browser instructions for managing cookies:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
